Distance from munnar
Kundala lake is about 20 km from Munnar, on the way to Top station, at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. People like to see the cherry blossoms twice a year and make them around the lake even more attractive. However, the famous Neela Kurunji flowers, which bloom once every twelve years and turn the green valleys of Kundala into refreshing blue beauties, are hard to see because of their rare availability.
Lake Kundala gives way to an artificial dam called “Kundala Dam”, which is another famous attraction of this region. It was built for the Pallivasal Hydroelectric Project in 1946 and is considered the first arch dam in Asia, also known as the Sethuparvathipuram Dam. You can see many things in the vicinity of this dam, such as green valleys, tea gardens, waterfalls, eucalyptus and pines, etc. Boating is another major attraction of this beautiful lake
The stunning backdrops of the green hills, the majestic sunrises, the incomparable beauty of the cherry blossoms and a blue blanket of the famous Neela Kurunji flowers that bloom only once every twelve years make this place a dream place and one of the main attractions in Munnar.
