Lake Ooty is one of the most refreshing and beautiful places to visit in Ooty. It is located about 2 km from Ooty in the green hills of the Nilgiris district. Spread over 65 hectares, the magnificent lake was created by Coimbatore collector John Sullivan in 1824. from this hill station. Numerous streams passing through streams can also be observed. This is the perfect place to capture people who are genuinely interested in photography. The lake is full of beautiful waterfowl with exotic Nilgiri Mountains in the background
A boat shed is also attached to the lake, and boating is one of Ooti’s most popular activities. The Ooty Boat House offers a variety of boating activities such as row boats, pedal boats, motor boats, etc. In May, boat trips and other entertaining events are organized for two days as part of the Ooty Summer Festival. Next to the lake is a mini-garden and amusement park for children with a toy train.
