Nisargadhama Coorg – surrounded by the Cauvery River, is accessible by crossing a suspension bridge. Founded in 1989, this picturesque picnic spot with lush foliage of thick bamboo, sandalwood and teak groves is home to charming riverside cottages. A luxury stilt cottage with the Cauvery flowing around, can accommodate five people. Elephant rides and boating are some of the other attractions. There is a deer park, a children’s park and an orchidarium in the complex. Medicinal plants are also grown. Tourists are allowed to enter the water at some shallow and safe points along the river
