Garadia Mahadev Temple is located at an elevation of about five hundred feet at an average distance from sea level, close to the gorge through which Chambal River flows. On both sides of the temple are massive cliffs.

The wind’s sway is believed to be symbolic of the Shiv sutra being blown into the ears of devotees, which ultimately awaken them to action. Most of the ceremonies in the temple are conducted by local pundits who usually stay in the shrine until 5.30 pm. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan.
