Maya Bay has become the main tourist attraction of Phi Phi since The Beach was shot here in 1999. It was still very popular before the movie, but now people from around the world who have never even heard of Phi Phi have certainly heard of Maya Bay. The best time to visit Maya Bay is between November and April in high season, when the sea is calm and access to the bay is easy. The rough seas from May to October may hinder access but rarely refuse entry. Bad news; as it is so beautiful and so well known, many boats are needed to transport all the visitors. Every day and at any time, there will be more than 30 speedboats and longtail boats on the beach, with large ferry boats carrying hundreds of snorkelers and tourists wet in deeper waters. Located on Phi Phi Leh Island, approximately 4,000 visitors have visited Maya Bay daily by boat or at nearby resorts to enjoy the scenic views that surround it. According to the latest information, the government could also set a limit of 2,000 tourists a day when reopening the bay.
