khao kheow open zoo pattaya is a large zoo with 8,000 animals of more than 300 species. Covering the 5,000-rai area of ​​Khao Kheow – Khao Chompu Wildlife Sanctuary in Chonburi, the zoo is the largest tiger center in the Asia-Pacific region. It was established as a unit of the Organization of Zoological Parks of Thailand with the main purpose of preserving wildlife and nature, providing useful knowledge for learning, acting as research institute and to create a recreation area.

More than 300 species and 8,000 animals inhabit the 5000 rai sanctuary. Six of the zoo’s new residents are rare white tigers traded by the Memphis Zoo in the United States.
