Kedarkantha is the Throat of Lord Shiva is a mountain located 20 kilometers away from Sankri village. It stands at an altitude at 12500 feet. The mountain is dedicated to Lord Shiva The legend goes from the Mahabharata time period, when the Pandavas visited Lord Shiva to ask for his blessings following the war of Kurukshetra. Lord Shiva did not wish to meet them , instead he disguised himself as the buffalo. Bheem among the 5 Pandavas who noticed something was not right in the buffalo herd and refused to let the buffalo disguised as Lord Shiva (Lord Shiva) pass, which led to a war with the other. Then, Bheem ripped apart the buffalo and the place where his body fell was the place where the Pandavas later constructed temples. Kedarkantha was the place where the throat of Bheem fell and hence the name. Another theory is that Juda-Ka-Talab was created after Lord Shiva let his hair fall and the water flowed out of it and created the pond.
