6:00 am to 06:00 pm

Belavadi Veera Narayana temple was built in the 13th century by the king of Hoysala, Veera Bhallala II. This temple is dedicated to Load Vishnu in three different forms. Although Belur and Halebid are famous for their intricate carvings, this temple is one of the best examples of Hoysala architecture. The west side of the temple consists of a square garbhagriha, a sukanasi, a Ranga mandapa and a maha mantapa square. The entire structure was built on an elevated platform. The entire temple is built of soapstone and it is thought that this temple was built in two phases. The temple is trikuta (three vimanas) with Sri Veera Narayana in the center facing east, Sri Venugopala in the north and Sri Yoganarasimha in the south. The sanctuaries of Lord Krishna and Lord Narayana were added later.

The entrance to the temple is majestic and has two carved elephants on each side of the door. The old sanctuary is in the center, while the other two sanctuaries face each other across a long Mandapa. The Ranga Mandapa shrine in Veera Narayana has beautiful bell-shaped pillars and a well-decorated roof. The outer walls of the temple have beautifully carved pilasters with decorative towers on the top. The main shrine has a four-handed image of Veera Narayana, which is considered one of the best examples of Hoysala art.
